Abilene Draws Out.

The Abilene draws came out yesterday evening. Instead of given my initial comments, I provided a link to the draw, I think it should go straight to the 4.5 draw since that is the one that will likely generate the most comments. I would envision Trautman being the favorite in addition to being the top seed. Oops, I guess I lied because that was in fact an initial comment. One more and I will be done. I think this is the first time that the 4.5 draw starts on Friday instead of Saturday since the draws are usually pretty small. Not sure why they are forcing everyone to drive up there on a Thursday since there is plenty of time to play 4 matches on Sat. and Sun. But then again, this is Abilene we are talking about. Nuff Said.

Wow....great 4.5 draw. Dont count out McKinley against Trautman. Josh can play some solid tennis IF he has been playing. Daniel Rockey returns from a stint at 5.0; good player. Cant wait to hear about Schmucker and Cox...should be a good story there.
Kern v. Gloria....I'd like to see that one as well.
Kallus watch out for Cherry, he played very tough at Qualifying last July.

Anonymous said...

Sarosh will beat everyone

Anonymous said...

After hearing about Gloria, I just hope I don't get embarassed to badly. I am looking forward to competing against good players, hopefully getting better and the weather doesn't look too bad.

Anonymous said...

Abilene tennis organizers really got this tournament right this starting on a Friday. Sucks because it does not look like I can drive up there since I get off from work at 9:30pm on Thursday. If I would of known it was starting on Friday I would of signed up for 5.0.

Oh well a waste of $51.00.

Schmucker

Anonymous said...

Schmucker, I think you got lucky then...now you don't have to get your butt kicked by Kern.

You would be back in Houston by Saturday anyways....

Anonymous said...

That TD is a idiot for setting up the 4.5 draw to start Friday morning. Not to mention scheduling singles matches at 800 and 1030. Glad I called him before I registered.

Anonymous said...

Just fly Greg!

Anonymous said...

Funny I was not playing Kern in the first round. Of course another anonymous poster too scared to post his or her name on this blog.

Leach I get off from work around 9:30pm on Thursday night. The 5.0 draw has changed 3 times since it was posted online as well. The TD running the tournament does not know what he is doing.

Foad will win the 4.0's in Abilene. I think Foad will have a good year.

Anonymous said...

Greg:
Your match is scheduled for Friday 12.30pm. So you could even leave friday early morning around 5 and then also talk to the TD and see if he can schedule it for like 3 or 4pm instead of 12.30.

If not, then you might as well fly there.

Anonymous said...

Greg doesn't usually drive to tournaments, he rides. Most of the time with Kallus. Maybe Kallus is tired of Greg kicking his ass and told him he would not let him ride up there with him.

Anonymous said...

Greg's been kicking my ass for 7 years, why would I start getting mad about it now? I am not 100% certain to be going either. I was counting on being in the office most of Friday before driving up so this kinda puts me in a bind as well. Greg told me the tourney director said that play is starting early on Friday because of the size of the doubles draw. Last year it was only a 3 team round robin. This year it is a 16 draw. Greg also said the tourney director felt bad about it and was willing to refund the entry fees for those that can't make it on Friday. At least that was nice of him.

Anonymous said...

Schmucker could kick my butt so let's not start saying he's avoiding me that's just stupid. The draw is also dumb. Why would you not play 2 on Saturday like other majors? Finally if anyone is going to skip out please do so early so us fools who are going might get some better times or at least have a correct draw. Isn't tournament tennis fun?

Anonymous said...

tell you what guys, lets just plan on the coke.see if you can get sarosh to play 5.0 so we can finally put some shit to rest.probably have to be first round because he wont get very far

Anonymous said...

Long live Lord of the strings.

Down with that sumbitch, sandbagger, former Jr. ITF player.

Anonymous said...

Sarosh will not play the Coke 5.0 I put money on that. I hear from my friends in Houston that he also brags he beats players like Odion...etc in practice matches which is quite funny. In fact I know a lot of players that will not hit with him anymore.

Reader you would kill him so don't look for Sarosh in 5.0. If he could Sarosh would try to get into 4.0's again.

Anonymous said...

Sarosh will not win the 4.5 Coke either. he'll probably get to the round of 8, but the conditioning and skill levels will take a toll on him. Practice matches is to work on parts of your game that needs work and does not mean anything else. I've lost many sets to people whom I could blow away if it was a real match.

Anonymous said...

Sarosh will win every tournament that he plays in. He is the Tennis God. They should make a video game called "Tennis Hero" after him.

Anonymous said...

Hey guys this is suppose to be about Abilene blog, OK. Let us not mess it up with that sandbagging, loser's name. Stay focus on Abilene stuff, alright.

Thank you.

Anonymous said...

Why is everybody calling Ahmed a sandbagger? I talked to Tim Green who is noted in this area as an NTRP expert, and he told me the majority of ITF world ranked juniors are mostly average 4.5 players, so one who is 30 years old is completely reasonable at 4.0. He said he might protest if the Rice number one varsity player played 4.5, but felt even then the guy was probably just a strong 4.5. I was curious and asked well who do you think is a 4.5 ringer. He said the only one he knew was FArzad Heidari who was on the satelite tour at the time he was playing 4.5, but that he wsa 50-50 on him being a ringer or not. Just an FYI from some conversations with Tim Green.

Anonymous said...

Tim Green is a nice guy but a completely worthless source on proper NTRP ratings. He would profess himself an expert but that is only because he has spent so much time trying to rationalize rating down players far below where they belong. He is a 5.0 finally, where he belongs. Heidari, is definitely not 4.5. Sarosh is not 4.5 but the bigger joke is that the loser actually had the nerve to play the Coke at 3.5 2 years ago, when he was even less removed from his days as a top world junior. That is BS. Good luck to everyone going to Abilene. Looks like you will have nice weather for once. Leach is right, the draw for 4.5 is pretty strong and there could definitely emerge a winner who is not Trautman.

Anonymous said...

Greg if your going to skip out on Kern do so early.

If you play him, I pick Kern 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 over Greg.

Anonymous said...

I beg differ:

Greg beats Kern 6-4, 6-4.

Anonymous said...

Not only is Sarosh the greatest 4.5ever, but he is also a most handsome man. There, I said it.

Anonymous said...

Dude,

That was a joke. I am not really gay. But thanks for revealing yourself as an intolerant bigot who has not quite mastered spelling.

Anonymous said...

why dont you go ahead and tell us yhe size of sarosh's penis while your at it brokeserve mountain?the rule is,if you played division 1 ball, you already are a 5.0 period!even if you are 40 years old, much less 30 years old like sarosh.so the question is,WHERE DID SAROSH PLAY FOR COLLEGE?answer that you gay sarosh followers.then well know where he should be playing

Anonymous said...

Well said lord of the strings.

Anonymous said...

Who am I? I dominated 4.5 last year. I can be Sarosh 6-0, 6-0. My dude buddy is Greg and my favorite movie is Lord of the Rings.

Anonymous said...

Latest news Kern beats Greg. Greg folds to the upcoming Kern. The pressure of beating a former 4.0 allstar player to great for Greg to handle.

Anonymous said...

Abilene update. Unfortunately schmucker did pull out AND it didnt change the seeding. So there is just a bye for the third seed. Looks like I'll still get my butt kicked by Gloria in the first round. I love how anon picks me to beat schmucker (wonder if he has ever seen me play?) Also I hear there is a captain in Houston who has a spreadsheet with all the important info on it, maybe he has penis size as well and would like to comment. I'll try to post how badly I get beat and how I should be playing 3.5 tomorrow.

Anonymous said...

Kern sorry I had to pull out, but do me a favor who is it anun and why is this person talking crap about us?

Sorry about Abilene, but I am not about to drive up there leaving Houston after 11:00pm tonight.

Schmucker

Anonymous said...

hey kern, youll give gloria a better match then you think.i saw him at the alamo city and wasnt that impressed, look at his results.by the way,did anyone notice that trautman pulled out against sanchez in the mabry final, then won the doubles? what a massive tool.sarosh,WHERE DID YOU GO TO COLLEGE?and how many ATP points or ITF points did you have?just looking for some history before our lesson.

Anonymous said...

Hey reader, thats some of the funniest shit i have ever heard!"Close that dick pleaser you call a mouth".Man i had to write that shit down so I can use it as my own someday!By the way,you shouldn't even play Sarosh unless you're gonna charge him.

Anonymous said...

Everyone knows Sarosh, but who is this Reader guy.

Anonymous said...

Kern, I admire your modesty, but truth be known you are simply better than Schmucker. Sorry Schmucker.
Why is Kern better:
1. Serve
2. Volleys
3. Short balls
The only advantage Schmucker has is he is a powerful counter puncher from the baseline. You make him play up and back, he does not have a chance.

Hopefully, you two will get to play each other in the near future and if I am wrong I apologize.

Anonymous said...

Why is everyone preoccupied with the awesome Sarosh in the first place? Here in Houston no one will hit with him anymore because how arrogrant he is on and off the court. Basically an asshole. He used to hit with Chris Hunckler, but now Chris won't hit with him because Sarosh runs his mouth all the time.

Tennis brings out the true character of an individual and it really showed us all Sarosh's.

John

Anonymous said...

Schmucker,

I think Anun is Sarosh. Find out from Kern, but it's pretty sad Sarosh is talking crap between you and Kern.

I would be interested to find out who started this. Kern let us know.

Anonymous said...

Sarosh is the next American Idol....Period

Anonymous said...

Kern beat Gloria 1-6, 7-5, 6-4. Cox lost in 3 sets 6-1, 1-6, 6-3.

Anonymous said...

I would like to see the next opinion poll be who would win between Kern and Schmucker.

I will vote for Kern, sorry Greg. I do think you are a good 4.5 player but not as good as Kern.

If this is trash talking I apologize, to all those who might take offense in me suggesting that Kern is better than Schmucker.

Anonymous said...

I have seen Kern play and I know he will not beat Schmucker. Kern is a good counter puncher with decent volloys, but Schmucker has a is a lot better off the ground and most of all fitness. Besides Schmucker is really a 5.0 player that is playing down at 4.5's.

My guess Schmucker in straights.

Anonymous said...

Schmucker is in great shape for a person in his early 40's, but remember Kern is not even 30. Kern has played tournaments where he has played over 12 matches. Mix, Doubles, and singles and won all three. Conditioning is not a factor.
Kern is not a counter puncher, he looks to attack the net every chance he gets.

Anonymous said...

Hopefully Kern and Schmucker will play each other in the Coke.

Anonymous said...

I should just stop correcting fallacies and soon I'll be unbeatable, 20 and taking Giselle away from Tom Brady! Let me first say I'll be 35 in a month and I didn't win all 3 in Ft Worth which is the only time I played 3 and my conditioning is horrible but I win or lose quickly so I can play more matches without dying. While I would love to be a counter puncher that's may be the last way I would personally describe my game. I was fortunate to beat Gloria today as he was probably was rusty but I'll certainly take the win. He gets his chance at revenge tomorrow in doubles so we'll see how that goes. Unfortunately Schmucker I don't know who anon is but they obviously haven't seen me play much by the erronous comments. But I would bet a lot of money it isn't Sarosh who by the way is one of the best guys I met all of last year. Finally, I won't be playing coke, not because I'm scared of playing Schmucker but because I'm scared of my wife who I'm afraid would kill me if I missed Easter again. Ok that should be plenty of material for you anons to start blasting me. Let the flaming begin.

Anonymous said...

Kern please do not vote for Schmucker in the straw poll. We both know you are better than Schmucker. I know you cannot say or write this out loud because some people might take it as being argonace instead of truthful. So I do not expect you to say or write you are better than Schmucker, even though you know you are. We will let the raquets do the talking.

Anonymous said...

Forth Worth facts middle of summer, Kern 12-1. Won the 4.0 singles, Won the 4.0 doubles, Finalist in 4.0 mix.

Anonymous said...

So Schmucker was #3 in men's 5.0 when he played 5.0. So if you do your research why not list both players accomplishments?

Anonymous said...

2006 Schmucker 5 games over 500 (17-12) ranked 3 in state in 5.0. Not impressed, lost twice to Kallus in 2006. If you play alot of tournaments you will have a high ranking his record was not impressive.

Anonymous said...

In 2006 Schmucker also played 4.5. He finished 3-2 and was ranked 70 something, Not very good.

Anonymous said...

This blog is way too crazy first Sarosh now it's the Kern vs Schmucker. Whats next John Cox vs John Trautmann?

Neither Schmucker or Kern have not played each other so what does it matter?

I think the 79 Steelers could beat the 2007 Patriots. Enough said.

Anonymous said...

I am pretty sure that Schmucker losing to Kallus had a lot to do with a friend doing a favor for a friend, at least the lose in Abilene anyway. I could be wrong but as far as I know Kallus never comes close to beating Schmucker when they play practice matches. I am sure we will get the chance to see the results of a Kern/Schmucker showdown sometime this summer but I don't see why we are trying so hard to create a rivalry where there is no reason for one to exist.

Anonymous said...

Yeah I heard about Abilene; a certain player let another certain player win so this individual could finish second in the round robin play.

Anonymous said...

I don't think Schmucker is going to play 4.5 this year. Through the grapevine there has been talk he will try out Open this year. Heard he got in the Lost Forest Open draw for next weekend.

Schmucker what are you're plans for the year?

Anonymous said...

The way I heard it from one of the two of them was that he was not helping someone to finish second. He was helping someone get credit for at least one win in the round robin so as to get semifinal points instead of 1 point. There were only 3 people in the round robin and Kallus finished last of the 3. Not that much different than someone defaulting to their doubles partner in the finals of a tournament so that they have both have enough strength left for their doubles finals. The Dibuas have done that several times as have others. I personally don't have a problem if Schmucker did that for his friend Kallus. I have seen people do far worse. Plus he probably felt sorry for Kallus because he knows Kallus would never be able to beat him in a tournament otherwise. I personally would question any win by Kallus over Schmucker from what I know of the two of them. Schmucker is by far the superior player though I will admit that I did lose to Kallus once 4 years ago but have beat him several times since.

Anonymous said...

Kern loses in the semi finals to the number one seed in a close match. Redeems himself by winning the doubles. Not bad for a player who played 4.0 last year.

HtownHacker said...

I've played Kern in both singles and doubles and feel that he's much better in doubles, while still being a very tough singles player. I'd have no hesitation about putting him on any 4.5 team I've captained.

I haven't seen Greg play in quite some time, but would give Kern a slight edge...he'd make Greg pass him with the backhand time and again. If Schmucker's backhand has improved since I last saw him he'd probably win.

Anonymous said...

how about a kern, reader schmucker, and sarosh round robin?that would be cool.im pegging reader to win the 5.o cola this year, any takers?

Anonymous said...

Just by taking a quick glance it looks like 4.0 players from prior year had better results in 4.5 than last years 4.5 in this past weekend Major Zone. The lone exception being John Cox. I guess he is trying to get bumped down to 4.0.

Anonymous said...

What 4.0's from last year did well in Abilene 4.5s besides Kern? From what I saw in the draw, he was the only one to win his first round match. Kern, is that you trying to point out how well you did?

Anonymous said...

Oh yes that was me. Go Kern. Go Kern. I don't know who posted it but Ken Ratana (current 4.0) made it to the semis defeating second seeded J.D. Miles in the quarters. He lost to Cherry pretty handly then Cherry won the first set against Trautman before losing in three. Cherry also won the doubles.

Anonymous said...

Sarosh's best friend: Matt Ellis, finalist at 4.0 in Abilene. Self rated 3.0 last Spring and was DQ'ed at sectionals, he didn't have the score management skills I guess but that is just sick to rate that low.

Anonymous said...

Lord of the Strings, you should take a chill pill. all that anger and energy might affect your play when you face Sarosh. you should dominate him with ease.

Anonymous said...

What happened to the 4.5 guys up at Abilene like Mario Gloria and Kallus. Looks like even JD Miles couldn't defend his points from last year as well. Looks like Miles will lose a lot of points which will allow Schmucker to move above him in the rankings.

Could be an interesting year in 4.5.

Anonymous said...

I can readily admit to the fact that I had the worst tournament of my recreational MZ career, regardless of level. 2 straight set losses in singles and then a 1st match loss in doubles. At least in that match, we took Cherry/Rosenquist to 3 sets so there were some glimmers of decent tennis. I have a bad knee right now that I am going to have looked at this week but more importantly I played just completely shitty tennis. Not a good start to the year. I don't think JD Miles cares very much whether or not Schmucker moves ahead of him in the rankings. He has said himself that Greg is a better player. I finally got the chance to meet the now famous Jason Kern, and he seemed to a really good guy and not at all arrogant unlike other top 4.0s from last year who will remain nameless. I think he will have a very strong year this year but he should given how many MZs he won at 4.0 last year. His game actually reminded me a good bit of Tim Green's and Felipe Wescoup's. An efficient, net-attacking game that minimizes physical wear. I don't think he will be losing matches at 4.5 because of endurance, etc. as some have stated.

Anonymous said...

Well today is the deadline for the first of three MZ's at San Antonio. Will be interesting to see which players are playing what.

Also the draw is up for Lost Forest as well. Guess it was true Schmucker is playing Open and an interesting first round match Goldberg vs Knutson in 4.5's

Footnote to Lost Forest no Sarosh?

Anonymous said...

Lord of the strings –

A friend of mine was at Abilene MZ and watched D. Rockey vs. J. Trautmann match. Rockey hit a ball that skidded off the baseline and Trautmann called it out. Rockey said no way and Trautmann turned to the crowd that had gathered to watch and asked “did you see it in or out?”. Everyone unanimously said it was in and Trautmann's Dad got off the bleacher and told everyone “Bull Shit”, that was 2” out and proceeded to challenge everyone. My friend intervened and told Trautmann’s Dad that it was against the USTA rules for spectators to make a line call and that his son should not have asked us in the first place. But Trautmann’s Dad is truly a major tool as you have pointed out before.

What I like to know is what’s up with Trautmann’s Dad going to all this Adult MZ tournaments? Is John Trautmann stuck in some kind of Jr’s time warp that he has to bring his old man out to an Adult event?

Anonymous said...

Yeah no kidding what kind of loser has to have his dad back him up at adult tournaments? Was Trautmann ranked high in juniors like Reader? Obviously this Trautmann guy has serious issues.

Anonymous said...

To win the awesome 5.0 draw in Abilene all you had to do is just win two matches and players like Reggie Black and Ronnie Johnson should be playing 4.5. In fact neither of those two players would make the top 20 in 4.5.

Anonymous said...

First of all, if he was unsure about the point, Trautmann should replayed the point or gave the point to his opponent. Never met the Dad, but he seems like a TOOL. I sure hope Trautmann's Dad makes it to the Coke in houston next month.

Anonymous said...

Don't know who would pull ahead on the Goldberg and Knutson match, but it would be an ugly match to watch.

Anonymous said...

Don't know why Sarosh has not played in any tourneys this year, nor signed up for any league tennis. Maybe he fears facing tougher opponents in real matches. So who do you think would win the men's 4.5 singles. How far do you think Greg will make it in Open this weekend?

Anonymous said...

Schmucker will have tough matches the whole way through, and his conditioning has to be on. I see schmucker going 3 sets in all his matches. Good Luck Dude!

Anonymous said...

I say schmucker will win a couple of rounds. 4.0 looks a little weaker now that all the top 4.0 players are gone. How about between Goldberg and Knutson?

Anonymous said...

It's a battle of ugly strokes. I take Goldgerg in 3 sets.

Anonymous said...

I think James Rice is gonna sweep in the M 4.0 Singles. Welcome back bro.

Anonymous said...

the Goldberg and Knutson match will take about 3 hours to finish. it's going to be really ugly. both players will be pushing back and forth. definitely a match to watch if you feel like taking a nap.

Anonymous said...

3 hours of tourcher or 3 hours of nap. Hmmmmmmm, I think I take a nap.

Anonymous said...

This blog is boring when Reader's not on here threatening to beat someone up. Is Goldberg vs. Knutson talk the best we can do?

Anonymous said...

allright,in response to your comment, who else wants an asswhippin?i'll bet i can beat any 5.0 out there! how's them apples?can anyone answer this? WHERE DID SAROSH PLAY IN COLLEGE?and i'll bet my left testicle,he NEVER had a world ranking in juniors.he was probably ranked 38 in a remote village with a population of 38.so suck on that fattie for a while.

Anonymous said...

Search Sarosh Ahmed and Tennis with Google and you can view his resume. Who the hell puts tennis on their resume (if you are not a teaching pro)??

Anonymous said...

I do agree with the latest post. There is no way Reader can take Gary Armstrong, Felipe Wescoupe, Dibua and other players of that calibre.

Christopher Towle said...

This Sarosh fetish you guys have is hilarious.

I tried the google search someone suggested and all I got was pages of you guys bagging on this dude.

I **think** I know how to use a search engine.

Share some light on where his resume is?

Anonymous said...

Truly Sad. I have NEVER seen this on a resume.

http://www2.egr.uh.edu/~sahmed6/Sresume.htm

Awesome for a good laugh.

Anonymous said...

If Reader can't even beat Armstrong or Dibua then he's not very good. I was expecting a lot more given all the bluster.

Anonymous said...

Sarosh had the right credentials on his resume, but his resume was dull and unappealing. There is no way anyone in the Engineering word would hire a person with a simple web page like his:
www2.egr.uh.edu/~sahmed6/hoemepage.html

***NOTICE the spelling of homepage in his URL.

Anonymous said...

This is the right link:

http://www2.egr.uh.edu/~sahmed6/homepage.html

The spelling of homepage is right. Whoever posted the previous blog probably doesn't know how to spell "Homepage" and "World". It is "Engineering World"

Anonymous said...

Oops, i meant the spelling of homepage on the link provided on his resume. By the way, this is a blog and i don't have to correct my spelling. in Sarosh's case, it's his resume. bend over lick your own balls.

Anonymous said...

Guys:
Who really gives a damn about what Sarosh has on his resume? And what his homepage looks like?
I guess few of us who really know him are very much aware that he happens to be doing really well in his career probably making atleast twice as much as most of us do.

I even saw him driving around in a flashy 80-90k dollar car in Dallas during sectionals last year...so who cares?
We all need to move on and start talking about something more interesting and entertaining.

This Sarosh topic is really boring me to death and I'm sure most of ya'll agree.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, lets move on please.

Anonymous said...

Hey, maybe I am late to the game but why is everyone spending all their time on a tournament tennis blog talking about a guy who only played 1 or 2 tournaments all last year? And who is "Lord of the Strings"? Obviously there is no filter on this blog when it comes to foul language, etc.

Anonymous said...

Lord of the Strings(Thomas Reader) has a degree in foul language!

I guess thats just his up bringing,
he must be one of those trashy guys with aboslutely no class and decency.

I beg differ. Those of us that know Reader, know he is a cool dude.

Looks like the all mighty Lord is going to intervene and let it rain on Friday so we don’t have to suffer watching or hearing about the ugly contest between Goldberg vs. Knutson.

I was still going to pick Goldberg in 3 sets, although it would have been real ugly tennis.

Amen.

Lord of the strings, once again your one liners have me in stitches!Im a struggling 4.0 at best, and you taught my kid josh back in 1998.So dont listen to those haters out there, because you're one of the best coaches he ever had.And definitly the funniest!Hope you kick ass in the 5.0s this year.

I guess LOS is donating money to the SA Major Zone since he will just lose and lose. Thanks for the donation from SAPTA.

Anonymous said...

Just decided to stop in after several months since I was told people have been posting as me. I see someone made fun of the Abilene 5.0 draw. Either way I was happy. Anytime I can get a win over a good player like Jason Gound I am happy. Reggie Black also had a very good game plan beating me to the net in the first set. I felt he played well. The guy I played in the first round was also a good player having played division I tennis. All and all I had fun getting back out on the court after a long time away.

See you in SAPTA.

Wow, just saw that Mike Shapaka entered 5.0 at the Mercedes. This guy played big time D-1 tennis. I wonder how he got a 5.0 rating.

Anonymous said...

if he played D-1 tennis, then why did he play 4.0s last year? sounds like another sarosh.hope reader gives him a proper burial if they play.by the way,WHERE did shapaka play in college?

Anonymous said...

hey reader, watch out for that shapaka guy,he was ranked 64 with an impressive 8-8 record last year in 4.0s.shivers!

Anonymous said...

Shapaka is in no way a ringer. If he played Division I tennis it was 20 years+ and 1 or 2 knee surgeries ago. He has been playing 4.0 and 4.5 over the last several years. A really nice guy on and off the court. As far as tennis, he is a decent player and a very fired up competitor, but even I have beaten him in straight sets the last 3 times I have played him and we all know how much everyone thinks I suck.

Anonymous said...

Oh yeah, my bad. I was thinking of someone else. David Wheaton. I get those guys confused all the time.

I saw the match with Ronnie Johnson and Arya and it was sad for Arya. Ronnie was just pushing the ball and Arya was spraying all over the place. I thought Arya was an Open level player. Also I heard Arya didn't show back up to finish his match with Ronnie because he didn't want the loss

Words of advice to Arya play 4.5 where you belong.

To Sarosh:

Hey pal stop playing these chicken shit 100 pts. tournament and start signing up for 400 pts. (MZ).

You will find out quickly how strong is the quality of tennis in MZ and I bet you top $ you won't get pass the Rd of 16!

HtownHacker said...

I saw Sarosh play for the first time yesterday...I think he will do very well in the major zones.

I'll be very suprise to see Sarosh sing up for 4.5 Singles at formely Coke Open next month.

I bet you top $ he wished he could play 4.0 or 3.5 again.

Sarosh stay home pal and keep holing on to those tropies you won in 3.5 & 4.0 at Coke Open. Your ass is going to be spanked hard if you think you can win a 4.5 MZ.

If Sarosh would be lucky to make the round of 16, then I don't even deserve to sign up for a MZ.

God why do we bother with the "Great" Sarosh again? Did he play Lost Forest.............NO! Is he playing San Antonio........NO! Instead some scrub tournament with5 players in the draw. Big Deal!

Tired of this guy that has done nothing regarding tournaments. Leave it alone and move on.

In his defense about not being a tennis whore like most of you guys, he does have a new born child at home. The degrees of freedom are much fewer in this situation as most of us have learned.

I completely agree with Kern.

If Sarosh can't make it to the round of 16 at MZ's (4.5), then maybe most of us need to start playing down at 4.0 instead of 4.5!

I'm 100% sure its the same 2 guys making all these dumb comments about Sarosh out of jealousy. You know who I'm talking about??

towle,

thanks for the comment on having young kids. I have a 8 mo old and I choose my tennis a lot more selectively lately.

Sometimes I wonder it league/tourney play is worth it at all lately with all these jackasses out there.

Christopher Towle said...

Yep. I agree. I have moved to a mode where leagues are very doable with a commit of ~2-3 hours a time, but tourneys cost 2-3 days of time.

Too much time away with travel, etc.

I could leave my wee-one with family for the weekend, but what fun is that?

Maybe as he ages and he turns into a punk teenager I may feel differently, but only time will tell....

Hey Kern, you are a cool dude. Not like that arrogant SOB that thinks he is a gift from GOD to tennis.

As far as playing Ahmed, if he has the balls to sign up for a major zone then I guess he might run in to me someday.

I'll make him eat that slice and dice bullshit.

I too watched the Johnson/Majed match. Ronnie was playing so erractically (drop shots, lobs, mis-hits for winners), that Arya seemed thrown off. Arya also looked a bit rusty. Lucky match for Ronnie, if you ask me.

Based on what I have seen of Sarosh over the past year, I think he will be a HOT favorite to win the 4.5 Coke this year.

Hey dick for brains -

We are talking about Men 4.5 Singles now, not 3.5 or 4.0 for
that loser.

I stand by my prediction that it would be miraculous for Ahmed to get pass Rd of 16 in a MZ.

Anonymous said...

i agree. sarosh is outclassed by several 4.5's. forget about 5.0. i can name at least four 4.5's who would kill that guy. the fact is, he has no weapons in his game. in the world of 4.0, a steady consistent game will make most fellow 4.0 players believe you when you tell them you have "excellent tennis credentials" what a joke.

Anonymous said...

I know of several 4.5 to 5.0 players who have beaten Sarosh pretty badly in practice matches. That guy is really overrated!

Anonymous said...

The four plus one guys that can beat Sarosh, let see
1. Blessing
2. Kudrick
3. Armstrong
4. Ted P.
5. Morgan
6. Greg S. (never mind Sarosh won that match)

HtownHacker said...

When was the last time any of those guys (except Schmucker) played singles in 4.5 at the Coke or any other major zone?

Sarosh MAY lose before the round of sixteen, depending on the draw, but I think he's equally likely to make it to the semis or finals.

His serve is poor for 4.5, his quickness is average at best in my opinion, but I don't see many people outplaying him from the baseline. I'd be interested in seeing how he fared against a guy who consistently made him pass with the backhand. I know he can come over it, but that slice is his bread and butter and is quite lethal against a baseliner.

Lord of the Strings -

It's not fun when you don't put your two cents in this discussion!

Good luck this weekend. We are picking you as the winner of the Men's 5.0 Singles in San Antonio.

Anonymous said...

I predict LOS losing first round in 2.5 womens singles. Also do not think he will win in consolation.

I see where Trautmann retired this last week for his fourth tournament in a row after getting to the semis or finals. I guess this works for not getting moved up (where a guy has to face some real players).
