Anyone feel slighted?

Seeds are out and as in years past, the seeding does not necessarily follow the rankings. I personally do not have a problem with this because I would rather see a known player get the seeding that is appropriate instead of seeing him facing a top seed in the first round or two, especially in the case where the ranking-based seeds care about the points and the unranked known player (usually a local ringer) just wants to win that local event and doesn't care about rankings and probably won't be playing other tournaments out of town. From what I understand, the HTA usually spends a lot of time trying to get the seeding right. Doesn't mean they usually succeed but they do try. Sarosh should probably be seeded higher, but #16 at least keeps him from facing another seeded player until the round of 16, so anyone he take out at that point will still get 150 points for the tournament. I am surprised that Chris Leach did not get a seed within the top 16 based on the same criteria HTA seems to usually use. Regarding the 5.0s, I agree that this will be a pretty exciting draw as there are 5 or 6 people who have a legitimate shot at winning. I also wouldn't be surprised to see at least 1 completely unheard guy in the 4.5 draw do some damage. It has happened quite a bit over the years. Sorry to those offended that I don't talk about Open or 4.0s. I just really don't know any of the key people to keep an eye on at those levels.

This is going to be a great coke!

Anonymous said...

Yeah. There are alot of good players out there for this year.
Let us hope the weather cooperates.

My Pick for the tourney:

M4.0S - Benjamin Kfir
M4.5S - Great "S"
M5.0S - Lord of the Strings

Anonymous said...

Leach should be seeded way about ahmed both in talent and results

Anonymous said...

Yeah! THe Great "Shit-for-brains" will win 4.5 for sure!

Anonymous said...

Leach should appeal it with Coke or Gallery Furniture TD. It really doesn't matter since there are no byes in 4.5 singles this year.

Anonymous said...

Which "Shit-for-brians" are we talking about. Me this morning or the Great "S" = Sarosh.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

you really should go back and learn proper english. if you try to answer your own question, you will realize who the great "shit-for-brains" really is. the power lies within you.

Anonymous said...

What has the Great "S" done to you that's got you all bend out of shape?

We all know he cheats with bad line calls. What else?

Anonymous said...

I am not worried about it. I didnt have any 4.5 results from last year. I would rather play good competition from the start (while I can still move a little bit).

Anonymous said...

Journey Man,

You wrote and I quote "especially in the case where the ranking-based seeds care about the points and the unranked known player (usually a local ringer) just wants to win that local event and doesn't care about rankings and probably won't be playing other tournaments out of town."

You just described that sumbitch Sorash in those words. He has been trophy hunting in 3.5 & 4.0 for the past couple of years.

Anonymous said...

conditioning is always a factor in these tourneys, that is my major problem. glad to see that the tourney is in March instead of April. i'm 20 lbs overweight so i need all the help i can get

Let's just hope for pleasant weather. I hate ending up over at Chancellor's as a squatter playing 2-2 no add Hoowey.

Anonymous said...

i hope Sa-roach gets the unseeded players like Leach or Morales or Halm, early. All of these guys are pretty good.

Anonymous said...

playing 2-2, no adds, 3rd set tie breaker. is not a true tennis match and should not be used in tournament play.

Anonymous said...

Yeh, but when you are pressed for time and there are alot of players that haven't played yet; what can you do?

Anonymous said...

Guys, I think Sarosh getting the 16th seed was a good decision made to benefit other seeded players more than benefitting Sarosh himself.
2 weeks from now, you will all be in agreement with me. As usual most of the guys talking crap about Sarosh don't really know him well enough.
Its just a matter of 2 weeks from now and it will all be out....
This should be fun!!!

Anonymous said...

I'm not gonna touch that subject with a ten foot pole. All I'm gonna say to that is "Whatever dude".

Anonymous said...

The best four players in the 4.5 Coke Draw.
1. Sarosh Ahmed
2. John Trautmann
3. Alfonso Rodriguez
4. Phy Huynh (unseeded) I feel sorry for any of my top three picks if they have to play Phy Huynh (He won the Coke in 4.5 before)
I still pick the Great S. to win.

Anonymous said...

Once again, whatever man.

Anonymous said...

The Great shit-for-brains will win a match and then lose putting to an end the false hope he has built up in 4.0 level tennis

Anonymous said...

guess who

Anonymous said...

is that picture from the 80's

Anonymous said...

only 1 1/2 weeks to get your practice in. the results from 4.5 will end or begin all this Sarosh hype. 5.0 and open are stacked with good players. lets hope the weather holds up.

Anonymous said...

Phi never won the Coke.

Anonymous said...

Both 4.5 and 5.0 has a lot of talent and whoever emerges out will definitely be the best of the best.

My guess is Amit Garg or Dibua for 5.0 and Rodriguez or Ahmed for the 4.5
Journeyman, what happened to the poll you were suppose to start. Can we have some bets also to go with the poll?

Anonymous said...

Alfonso and Sarosh will be a great match to watch if they make it to the finals and so will Dibua and Garg be in the 5.0

They will definitely be close 3 setters that could go either way!

Anonymous said...

When would the draws be out for Coke? Can't wait to see them...

Anonymous said...

My pick for doubles are:

4.5: The Giordanelli brothers - if they don't kill each other first.
5.0: Garg & Reader

HTA seeding is bogus, look at the unseeded doubles team that won 4.5 last year.

Is anyone surprised that Hall is seeded?

Anonymous said...

The Giordanelli brothers get along great both on and off the court which is why they have some good results. Yeah, they are intense and have a tendency to get upset at themselves (especially Mike) but rarely, if ever, at each other.

I'm not surprised to see Hall/Rothe seeded simply because of the lack of points from all the other teams, not because they have had any great results. Maybe not the second best team in the tournament but not a travesty that they are seeded.

Anonymous said...

This coke will definitley be awesome ! You all need to watch out for James Bui.....he is new on the scene but has a nasty backcourt game....

Anonymous said...

Dude.....Halm beat Bui at Lost Forest. Has anybody here ever played Halm ? I saw him take Odion to three sets at last years Coke....he can make some shots that will blow your mind. Not always consistent though.....

Anonymous said...

Lost Forest tourney was a joke. because of the rain delays, you had to start 2-2, no-ads, and third set tie breaker. thats what you call Lottery tennis.

Anonymous said...

i hate that scoring crap. it's worst then league scoring. let's play some real tennis and play it out.

Anonymous said...

Oh Yeh. I'm never going back there again. Might as well flip a coin and decide who wins!

Anonymous said...

If I'm not wrong, Sarosh beat Brandon Halm in straight sets at the Casa Ole tournament in Dec which was barely 3 months back.

Do you still consider Halm to be a threat loosing that bad to Sarosh?

Anonymous said...

anyone who is coming back into tennis like James Bui, will have good results, but when it comes down to the wire, the more experienced tourney players will have the advantage mentally and physically. all seeded players will have to watch out for him in the early rounds.

Anonymous said...

Is Halm a threat ? I am not sure. I did see the results, Sarosh beat Halm at the Strawberry last year. It all depends on which Halm shows up to the court...he can lose to people like John Griffin and Trey Dugas but he is still a threat to the top seeds.....opinons....?

Anonymous said...

who's the unlucky seed that will have to play C. Leach, M. Morales, J. Bui, Q. Bui.

Anonymous said...

Does anybody know when the draws would be out for Coke?

Anonymous said...

mostlikely monday

Anonymous said...

Hopefully this year the 4.0's will play at Homer Ford Park instead of the 4.5's and 5.0's. Can't stand Homer Ford. I feel like I need to borrow one of the discarded Hum-Vee's from Iraq just to make it there safely. Then when I step out of the vechicle I need body armor on as well.

Would be nice to actually play out of Memorial Park for once.

Anonymous said...

Men Open Play at Lee LeClear
Men 4.5 & 5.0 Play at Homer Ford
Men 4.0 Play at Memorial Park
Men 3.5 Play at Lost Forest

Now you know where you are playing!

Anonymous said...

Congrats to all commentors, yesterday set a new single day record for number of site visits.

Anonymous said...

Journey Man,

Half of it was this dude & I arguing about proper way of speaking English!

Anonymous said...

HOMER FORD NEEDS SECURITY!!! I feel like i need body armor after the pregnant woman got hit in the head with a baseball over a fender bender in the parking lot. And HTA wonders why people complain and do not play tournaments in Houston like they used too.

Anonymous said...

I never had any issues while playing at Homer Ford(knock on wood). The courts are alright.
Most of my matches were during the day so I can't comment about the evening events. Good luck to everybody. Fight hard and die hard out there.

Anonymous said...

i had to play on a court @ HF, that was the closest to the basketball courts and it was loud and a radio station was there talking on a loud speaker.

Anonymous said...

Reader will feel right at home at Homer Ford. You can always smell pot being smoked somewhere nearby.

Anonymous said...

Saw that Red signed up, what's the chance that he will show up and play? Or is he still in hiding?

Let's do a new poll on this.

Anonymous said...

If Red had to play Trautman in a tournament, will anyone show up? Who wins?

Anonymous said...

Could you imagine a Trautman, Benson, Schmucker round-robin? Tumbleweeds and crickets.

Anonymous said...

- Will Benzon protest about a person in a tournament?

- Will Trautmann quit at match point?

- Will Ahmed finally loses a match, because he did not make bad calls?

- Will Kallus finally win back to back matches?

Anonymous said...

I say Halm will win the entire Coke !

Anonymous said...

Halm will give a lot of players a hard time. definitely a person to watch. he should be seeded top 4.

Anonymous said...

Somebody said Halm was unseeded, I saw today that he is seeded #12 at the Coke. Did anybody know he is a Federal Agent ? I just found that out at the Lost Forest Open last month......we should be safe at Homer Ford.....:)

Anonymous said...

he's probably carring an AR-15 in his tennis bag.

Anonymous said...

I honestly feel the True Players from 5.0 like Tim Green and Odion Dibue will fair very well in the Gallery. Brian Smith is definitely a player though.

In 4.5 I like Leonardo solis and Phi Huynh to go far but it all will depend on conditioning at this point.

Anybody have any info on 4.0 singles. What about Jason Freeman? Pure domination in 3.5's and 4.0's have to count for something. Freeman is probably busy assembling the Summer 4.5 League team that's the talk of the town at the moment. Where is Jason Kern?????

Anonymous said...

Solis is not in shape.....hits hard, but not in shape. Phi is definitley in shape and hits hard......does anybody know how they did in last years Coke....?

Anonymous said...

Can someone tell me How Trautman would fair in the 5.0 Draw? What about Sarosh? Wouldn't it be something if they were to combine 5.0 and 4.5? Let's just say 5.0 Champ vs. 4.5 Champ would there be a big Gap???

Anonymous said...

ummmm...yes there would be huge gap i think.

Anonymous said...

I think the 4.5'S & 5.0'S would be a really close match, provided we pick the best of the best from 4.5's.

And then if we happen to pick the best 4.5 league players, they will anyday run down the 5.0 tournament players on any given day.

Anonymous said...

There is very little that seperates 5.0 from the 4.5 round of 16 in most majors. The draws are smaller and you dont have some of the garbage to wade through in the early rounds.

Anonymous said...

Big big difference between the best of 4.5 and the best of 5.0, especially these days. Some of the players in the coke draw in 5.0 are clearly a couple of notches above any 4.5 level player. Experienced players find this to be obvious. 4.0 and 4.5 players would disagree however because they don't appreciate some of the more advanced aspects of competitive tennis. Thus the argument is moot, and the results speak for themselves.

Anonymous said...

I have to disagree. Gound, rated 4.5, has fairly dominated the 5.0 scene the past few years (although not lately). Reader, who lost to Trautman, is a favorite to win as well. Are you talking about Amit or about Smith? Amit is solid, but he could easily lose to Odion or Reader. I have no clue about Smith.

Anonymous said...

Yes you are right-good point about Gound. But if you look at who is currently in the draw, i think the best of best will separate themselves pretty clearly. I think the original question about how would trautman or sarosh or dibua fair in this 5.0 field is hypothetical until the coke-but i think these three players are in a similar level, so the results for dibua in 5.0 will reflect how the others would do (if they played very well up to dibua's level). Good luck Odion!

Anonymous said...

True, they are all of a similar level with the exception of one thing: Odion's serve. This gives him a great advantage even with a mediocre game.

Anonymous said...

Trautman would quit before he even plays anyone worth mentioning so you can throw him out of the discussion. Sa-roach is just a middle-of-the-pack 4.5 player so i dont even think he'll do well this year. we'll see. i agree results speak for themselves.

Anonymous said...

dibua will be lucky if he wins 2 matches.

Anonymous said...

dibua will be lucky if he wins 2 matches.

Anonymous said...

sarosh would win the coke in 5.0 and beat trautman in the finals!

Anonymous said...

Who would you rate in 4.5 has the most natural talent on the court when it comes to shot making...?

Anonymous said...

miguel morales has the most natural talent

Anonymous said...

at what?

Anonymous said...

Can that dude een hit a clean shot? He needs to play with a weed. (not with weed, strings, dont get excited)

Anonymous said...

Halm has the most natural talent. Not too good on the conditioning though.

Anonymous said...

In response to the poll going on, are we referring to Quack Bui? Not to take anything away from, but the times i have seen him play he is just a mediocre 4.0-4.5 player. He has great shots, just seems to lack the fire it will take to beat some of the top 4.5 guys playing right now.

Anonymous said...

I think he is getting the votes because he took Odion Dibua to 3 sets last year. I think at Fall Fest. That goes a long way towards a reputation as a strong player. He is very steady but not any big weapons. Phi Hunyh if he is past form should be the biggest threat to do well as he is a former Coke 4.5 finalist and won Fall Fest that same year. Of course his Coke semifinal win was over Kallus so that probably says something about the strength of the draw that year (or lack there of).

Anonymous said...

Say what you will but I actually had a really good year that year (2005 I think). 2 or 3 MZ semis and 1 MZ final. I think I got blown out in all of those matches but at least I got there. Then I tried a full year at 5.0 and haven't been the same since. I actually think the small draws and thus far fewer matches hurt me in terms of lack of court time over the course of the year far more than facing the better competition helped lift my game. But that's just me. I will say that from that year's experience when you run into a true 5.0 rated player in a 5.0 draw it is definitely it is definitely a major step up from anything you have to face in 4.5s.

Anonymous said...

Halm beat Phi at last years Coke in the Round of 16.

Anonymous said...

He did but that might have been influenced by the 12+ rain delay on Saturday and the move from Homer Ford to the Jewish Community Center. Halm is good but I don't know where this most naturally gifted 4.5 shot-maker shit is coming from. Same goes for Morales. He hits very heavy topspin shots, where the hell is the shot-making in that?

Anonymous said...

I didn't know the details on the Halm vs Phi match. I just enjoy watching him play, he does have heavy western strokes, but can slice effectively and come in when needed. Though it is not as fast as Odion, Halm's serve is definitley one of the best in 4.5....!!

Anonymous said...

I love how Miguel Morales keeps anonymously mentioning himself.

Anonymous said...

Maybe his parents did not give him the attention he required. Stop talking about yourself pretty lame.

Anonymous said...

miguel has a lot more class than alot of people here

Anonymous said...

Ok Miguel, we beleive you!

Anonymous said...

im not miguel, im your mothers boyfriend

Anonymous said...

Guys,

Please keep this blog civil. Lets talk about this tournament please.

Thank you.

Anonymous said...

Miguel is a good guy and a decent player but there is a reason why his name was never mentioned before this recent discussion. That reason is the fact that he is no where near being a top dog in 4.5s. Doesn't mean he isn't better than a lot of players out there but to talk about him as being in the same class as Sarosh or Trautman or even Phi Hunyh is definitely a bit beyond reality. Same goes for Brandon Halm with the exception that he did beat Phi last year. Other than that, why is he getting so much hype all of a sudden?

Anonymous said...

i think its premature to call
sa-roach a top-level 4.5 player. lets see how he does here. having seen him play a couple of times and also seeing others play and talking to people, i really dont think he will fair that well compared to others

Anonymous said...

Miguel and Brandon, both will do well in the tourney.

Anonymous said...

kallus--nice to see you saying it like it is. good luck with the tourney!

Anonymous said...

Watch out for Quack Bui this year......he is playing well as of late....!

Anonymous said...

Really I cannot believe people are not picking Dennis Hilsmeier to win the 4.5 division. How can everyone on here be so stupid for such an oversight? Do you really think Trautman, Sanchez, Schmucker, Sarosh, etc can even compete with Dennis.

I think not!

Anonymous said...

does he have impressive "tennis credentials" like sa-roach?

Anonymous said...

I saw Kallus and Halm sneaked into a Missouri City tournament this weekend before the Coke...! That should be a good match.....flat versus heavy topspin. I give the edge to Kallus......anybody else have thoughts...?

Anonymous said...

Kallus has the fitness advantage. Halm a big serving advantage. They are both very steady, consistent players if their games are on. If there is even a hint of wind, I would go with Halm as he hits with a lot of spin and Kallus does not even know what spin is.

Anonymous said...

I agree....Halm will overpower Kallus.....

Anonymous said...

Halm will take Kallus 6-3, 6-3.

Anonymous said...

Halm and Kallus won't even play unless they both win their 1st match. I say the match won't even happen because one of them will lose the 1st match. Probably Kallus based on his results so far this year. Anyone know why he has done so poorly so far? Usually he starts strong the first few meaningless tournaments and then has sucky results the rest of the year. Maybe he's devastated by Moser moving to France and messing up his chances in doubles.

Anonymous said...

To be fair to Dan, he has had some knee trouble lately. Regardless of what most of you seem to think, Dan can pay some damn good tennis (when he isnt thinking about line calls, french drains, supermodels, or seagulls).

Anonymous said...

Gound is not a 4.5 player even though he is self-rated. His results in 5.0 are impressive over the past couple of years and i doubt that any 4.5 player today would definitely beat him

Anonymous said...

Who is this Yien Zheng guy.......what kind of game does he have.....? He is seeded high...

Anonymous said...

I disagree on Gound. I think he fits as a 4.5 player for league play. He would be very average at sectionals. Now, in tourneys he would be a dominant 4.5 player.

Anonymous said...

Kallus told me that Halm did not show up for his match this morning so there will be no Halm/Kallus taking place. I still think Halm would probably eeck out this one but maybe not since it has heated up and Kallus is definitley a lot more fit.

Anonymous said...

Gound is a dominant 5.0 tourney player. Looking at his record, you are right that he is just a good league player.

Anonymous said...

Looks like I drew Sarosh first round.

Anonymous said...

lots of interesting 5.0 matchups. i think hunckler vs. brian smith, dibua vs green are among the interesting first rounds i think based on numbering

Anonymous said...

woops sorry those first round matchups in 5.0 may not be correct--

Anonymous said...

No, you are right. Smith vs Hunckler. Green has to beat Perreras to get to Odion.

Anonymous said...

Leach,
sa-roach is not a dimensional player. keep this note:
-he loves the drop shot to your forehand
- his strength is slicing down the line. so he can't hit a passing cross court
- he likes to hit the forehand cross court
- his serves are slow, but the are flat and low
*** he hates long points and high balls,
- make him hit a backhand volley.
- move him around the court, more up and down, rather then side to side.

good luck!

Anonymous said...

where are the draws??

Anonymous said...

Never heard of Brian Smith, Chad Loup, and a few others in the 5.0 draws. Who are they?

Anonymous said...

The top players in the 5.0 are Thomas Reader and Brian Smith.

What do you guys think about the fact that the seeding committee skipped over Reginald Black and Tim Green and seeded Amit Garg. Not only that, Reggie and Tim both have to play a first round match. Not only that but Reggie has to play Thomas Reader. Reginald made the finals of the last major zone and Reader won it. Why are they playing in the first round. Tim Green won the first major this year and the Coke last year...why is he playing in the first round. If the committee is going to use selective seeding they need to know all the players. Thomas and Brian Smith are by far my favorites to play in the finals.

Dinker

Anonymous said...

Wow...I would have to beat Richard Perreras, Odion Dibua, Amit Garg, Brian Smith and Thomas Reader all in a row to win the tournay...anyone have golf plans for Saturday?

Dinker

Anonymous said...

Green has to beat Perreras to get to Odion. That's not a good draw for Green. I pick Leach over the Great "S" in their 1st round clash.

Good luck to everyone who are participating in this year's Gallery Furniture (for you old timers "Coke Open").

Anonymous said...

I think the favorites in the 5.0 draw are Garg, Reader, and Smith. Garg was seeded because he has been doing well in local tourneys. It doesnt mean its right. But certainly he is a favorite....so chill out Dinker, you can win if you concentrate on your game and not some measly seedings. Even if seedings went by ranking purely as most thought, you would still have some tough first rounds because of the number of good players.

Anonymous said...

My picks are Reader vs. Garg in the finals. Garg is tough dude--smith may be a damn good player though, i dunno.

Anonymous said...

seedings are not the players fault only the committeees. how does the 4.5 or 4.0 draws look-didnt have a chance to go through so many names

Anonymous said...

draw is not out, but just look at the number next to the names and assume that that's their spot on the draw.

http://tennislink.usta.com/tournaments/sanctionform/PreviewReport.aspx?id=30032

Anonymous said...

Reader lucked out with the draw because all the best players are on the other side--garg, dibua, green, smith

Anonymous said...

are you kidding? "by far Thomas Reader and Brian Smith" in the finals--already a poor loser dinker?

Anonymous said...

dinker-

Its kinda creepy when you write about yourself in the third person. Have you been hanging out with Billy Jack?

Good luck this weekend buddy!

Brian Smith will win the 5.0 tournament, trust me.

Anonymous said...

odion will have to beat tim and amit, to even make it to semis.

Anonymous said...

just look up his results (brian smith or anyone else for that matter). make your own judgements from them. all this other bs regarding who will win is just that. he seems like a good player in the past as he has played open and had some good results. he lost to a super 14's player last year. so he is not at all a shoe-in nor is anyone else for that matter. there are some damn good players in the 5.0 draw--more than i can remember in recent years. thats great for tennis. dont forget about rich ryu in the top half--reader will face a couple of tough matches--likely jon evans and ryu so dont think its easy to predict. that is whats great about tourneys!

Anonymous said...

O.k. who does everybody think will win the following matchups:

Phi vs Kallus

Halm vs Hawkins

Leach vs Sarosh

Any thoughts on the style of each matchup//?

Anonymous said...

Gound beat Ryu the only time they played.

Anonymous said...

My earlier point is that Reginald or Reader should have been seeded. Reginald Black just played Reader in the finals of the last major zone and here they have to play first round matches against each other. If Amit is seeded because of small tourney success, Reader should be seeded since he has had success at all levels. He won the last major zone 6-0,6-0 in the finals over a top ten ranked player.

Dinker

Anonymous said...

But with that being said Dinker, then u should be seeded based on your past history in 5.0 singles too. That could be argued as well. Lets be honest, Reginald gets points because he travels to every tournament and sometimes gets the benefit of the draw not being that competitive (San Antonio-his half of the draw). Reader on the other hand, probably should have been seeded over Garg. But Garg is a definite contender for the singles title, he is a tough player.

Anonymous said...

Yes...Garg is a great player and he beat me in Kingwood. If you want to go by individual wins then I defeated the 1 seed Gound in Abilene this year and at the Gallery final last year. Does this prove I should be seeded? I still believe Reader and Smith are the strongest and deserve seedings if a committee is choosing the seeds. If a committee goes by the rankings then Reginald Black should be rewarded for playing a lot of tourneys. Reginald made the semifinals and finals of the two majors this year.

Now that the draws are out for Coke, my bad Gallery Furniture; let the trash talking begin. My upset of the week is Leach beating the Great “S” in straight sets!

- kallus beats phi in 3 sets

- leach wins 7-5, 6-4

Phi is going to school Kallus.........6-4,6-4.

I have never seen Halm play but I know Hawkins.....I think Hawkins beats Halm 6-2, 6-1.....!!!!

Leach, make sure you get the umpire when Sarosh makes his first bad line call.

What strikes me the most is Sarosh cheats even on a regular 15-15 point when he is up 4-1 in a set....? Most players with " bad eyesight " at least wait until it is important to cheat.

You guys ready for me to start a new discussion stream?

yup journeyman-start with your predictions again...

Sounds like fun....I'm looking forward to it! I had to play Jose Cruz De La Rosa a few years ago, this will have to be better than that.

Jose Cruz De La Rosa = Crazy Jose

I thought they banned Crazy Jose from USTA tournaments.

Someone told me he was banned for one year from Coke Open, but like everything else USTA wants your $$$.

What makes you think Benjamin Kfir will win 4.0 singles?

Anonymous said...

Benjamin Kfir will win the 4.0 singles because he has a good solid game and can run all day with the best of them!

Go Ben Go.

Ben Kfir will be lucky to make it to the round of 16's. If he gets that far, he will be CRUSHED by Ontiveros. He may be able to go, but there are WAY more players who can "go" longer than he can....
