Coke...I mean Gallery...sorry, I mean HTA Major Zone 3 days away.

Since I can't even stand viewing my own blog because of all the crap spam messages, I am sure you can understand why I haven't been very active.  However, in light of the Houston Major Zone this weekend, it would seem very wrong of me not to post something new.  Unfortunately, since this will be the second straight year that I won't be involved at all with the tournament, I really don't have any predictions or comments to make other than from what I can tell entries were down by a decent amount compared to last year.  Is it the impact of the surprise USTA rating fiasco?  The $33 entry fee?  Houston's facilities compared to other Texas cities?  We may never know.

wow, comment validation is on! Sadly, it's probably too little too late. Hopefully we can get some predictions going for the Coke.

Who will be the 1st seed to lose in 4.5? Who are the most dangerous floaters in that draw?

Towle - can you take over the blog?

We do know why entries are down. The USTA sucks! They deserve this failure. They have ruined the once mighty Coke tourney along with all others through their ratings bump disaster. This was easly predicted. They deserve what they get. Failure to the USTA. Bastardos.

The 4.0 and 4.5 draws are a joke compared to the size they once were.

I can help. Running a blog is not much work. Give me admin rights and I can help.

A good 1st Rd. match between Chris Leach vs. Mario Gloria in 4.5s.
My money is on C. Leach.

Tired of hearing all of the crying about the ratings bump. It is all relative. Sounds like the folks at the top of the heap just don't want to scratch around at the bottom for a while. Things change, it is time to move on..........

3:12 poster doesn't have all of his facts straight. More than the 3 4.5 players on the national team got bumped last year in Houston. Carpenter, Hasker and Bui to name a few.

Looking at the Coke results, quite a few bumped 4.0 players did very well.

Chambert made it all the way to quarts and the semis in doubles. Not a bad result.

Reader gave me an infection this last weekend!!!!

I haven't counted the total number of Houston 4.5s that were bumped to 5.0, but off the top of my head there are at least 6:

Omon Dibua
Neil Carpenter
James Bui
Adrian Hasker
Soonh Hay Tam
Tim Green

So DH, so unless you count the pen1s in your hand, most normal people have 5 fingers.

Hey six-finger, cut the foul language. This is not the appropriate forum.

Everyone knows that USTA screwed up the ratings for majority of us this year, so please don't try to justify their actions b/c you ain't gonna win this arguement.

Yeah, I'm going to stick it to USTA by not playing league or tournaments for 5 years, then re-rating myself at 3.0. On top of that, I'm going to whine everyday on this blog about I got screwed.

NOT, shut up bitch! Go out and play tennis.
